This week was not all that eventful. We had transfers, which didn’t affect us at all but there are several changes in the zone. We have a new sister in our ward whose name is Hna Recalde from Paraguay who is super cute and super small. We were in a trio with Hna Zollinger for a few days until her new comp got here. That was super fun! We also went to the train museo which was super tiny but fun. It is was a good cultural experience and now I know a whole lot about the old trains in Argentina!
This week was a little slow. I am feeling a little frustrated because I feel like we are working hard with very little results. But we have both really felt the impression that we need to work with the members more to receive more references and to have more direction to our searching process. We have made plans and we have put some of them into action this week. For example, this Sunday we handed out little papers with 3 pass along cards with the invitation for them to pray to receive missionary opportunities, to give away the three cards and to write their names and addresses on a the little paper. We will also be passing these out this week to our less active members so that we can start receiving some quality references that will already have friends in the chapel. We are also organizing a ward 40 day fast in which one ward member fasts each day for 40 days. We will be fasting for more strength and unity in the ward and so that we can find new families to teach. I am very excited for this because I have come to learn about the true power of fasting and the powerful, uniting influence of a group fast. So we are very excited to try out these ideas and a few others and to see miracles from working with the members!
One pretty cool thing that happened this week was that Graciela, our menos activa, came to church yesterday!! She is normally all depressed with we talk to her on the phone (like she doesn’t know how to small talk and we say "Hola Graciela , Cómo está?" and she just responds "MAL!", "voy a morir!" o "yo tengo colitis!" or something else super abrupt and super funny like that (we usually have to use all our force to not laugh haha) but Saturday night she said that she was doing super good and that she was going to go to church Sunday! Well she came to church alone and stayed for the gospel principles class. It was truly a great experience. She was also able to talk with the bishop and now she has an interview appointment with him for this week. It will not be an easy process to reactivate her but she is taking the steps and is going in the right direction. I love that woman more than I have ever loved a less active member before and I have faith that in a few years I will be able to see her in the temple.
We taught some other people and had a noche de hogar con Hna Julian (yummy food and tons of it!!) But that´s about all that was memorable from this week!
I wish you a safe and happy week!! =)
Con amor,
Sarah
