Well this week was a fun week!
On Monday we played games with all of the sisters in our zone in the chapel. We played with the glow sticks and we played other silly games. It was a good time!
On Wednesday we traveled to Mendoza for the conference with Elder Zeballos of the 70. It was a great conference. Hermana and President Goates talked along with Hermana and Elder Zeballos. I really enjoyed what Hna Zeballos said about how we as missionaries are the face of the church. Everyone recognizes the missionaries and how we act impacts their image of the church. I really started to think about how I act in public. Do I always have a smile on my face? Am I always sharing the gospel with everyone I see? I set myself to reflect on this and the past few days I have been working extra hard to always act happy and to Abrir la boca more and in a more natural way.
Well after the conference I was pulled aside by President Goates and he told me that I was going to have a 1 on 1 interview with Elder Zaballos! Out of the 150 (more or less) missionaries at the conference, Pres. Goates had chosen one elder and I to have interviews with him! So I had a short interview with a 70! That was a cool experience. I was able to ask him a question that I had wanted to ask in the conference but I did not get the chance to ask. I was also able to look into his eyes and see the strong testimony that he has. It was awesome!
This week we have been working a lot with Teresa. She came to church yesterday! She couldn’t stay for the whole 3 hours but she said that she liked the church and that the next time she will stay for the full 3 hours. We are really seeing a great progression in her. We have been reading the Book of Mormon together which has really helped her and has also helped me understand and apply the Book of Mormon more to my own life. It is incredible what power it has!
Lourdes (our 19 year old investigator) and her uncle came to church too. Lourdes is a little confused. Her mom is catholic, her friends are testigos de jehova and she has been listening to the missionaries for years now. She need to just pray to find our what is the truth but she is afraid to ask because she doesn’t want to let anyone down. It is a very slow progress with her but we are working on getting her to read the Book of Mormon and to pray about it. If she feels the spirit she cannot deny it.
Con Amor,
Sarah
