We taught a new family of investigators this week. They seem very sad and have hard hearts. I think they are having family difficulties and are hurting. I hope that we will be able to open their minds and hearts to our Heavenly Father in our next visit. We have also been working with several menos activos (less active members) and we are having a bit of success with them. We were street contacting one day and we stopped to talk with one woman, and she said that she was a member and served a mission! She let us into her house and we had a short lesson with her. She then invited us over for lunch on Sunday. On Sunday she went to church, she hasn’t been in years. We then went over to her house for lunch and she seemed much happier than our last visit. We will continue to visit her and make sure she keeps coming to church.
The Gomez family is having lots of problems. The oldest daughter and the mother are in a huge fight and it´s affecting the whole family. We weren’t able to have a lesson with them this week ;(
I just want everyone to know that they are loved by their Father in heaven and that there is hope, and that families are important! I just want to shout it from the rooftops!!
Lots of pictures this week!!
Here are some pictures from last P day (preparation day). We went to our favorite bread place to get empanadas and alfejores (a sweet pastry)! We then made tortillas, and this food from Honduras that is kind of like an enchilada but super yummy! We had 2 sisters from another zone stating with us for the zone conference so it was a party (ya know a missionary party haha).
On Wednesday we helped a sister in our ward, Hermana Bentiez, work in her garden. It was super fun! She may be the nicest lady in the whole world. We also accidentally dug up some mini potatoes that we got to eat. Service is fun and I like bonding with the members.
Believe it or not I have been on my mission for 1 month!! Crazy right?! Hna Cerrato made me a card, Hna Japa made me a weaved heart thing in my favorite color, and Hna Lybbert bought me a delicious ice cream cake!! They are soo nice and fun!
For world service day this Saturday, our ward painted benches and tables in a local park. We then ate asado!!!! MEAT!! It was so fun and soooo yummy. The little kids here are cute, fun, and I love playing with the little ones because I don’t have to speak Spanish.
The food is good! There is meat and bread at every meal. There is also fruit for dessert, which is funny. Mate is gross, and I don’t like it. It´s like an herbal tea. We can’t drink mate because people pass around the cups, and all drink from the same straw. However, we can drink mate cocida, which is basically the same thing. It´s gross but I have to learn to like it I guess...people drink mate ALL THE TIME!!
So here are just some random pictures!
First is me sitting in a asequia (ditch) while waiting for the other sisters.
Dinner is super small and we don’t get very many veggies so I made sure to get some. I thought you might be proud mom ;)
I found cocoa in argentina(Our family dog)!!
People put cones or bottles on top of their cars if they are trying to sell them. I find this very amusing.
Well I love you all and miss you!! <3
