Hello Family!!
This week was spiritually amazing! We had several powerful experiences. First off, we finally had a lesson with the Gomez Family. We watched the video of the 1st vision and talked about the importance of prophets and that we have a prophet on the earth today. The spirit was so strong during the movie. Afterwards, the mother began to cry and said that she knows that the story is true and that she knows that Joseph Smith was a true prophet sent by God! This was amazing because before we were unsure if she truly had a testimony or not. The 8 year old daughter was there as well and she said that Jose Smith must have been a great person with a lot of faith to have really seen God and Jesus. They agreed that they need to attend church, and they both came this Sunday. The mother fit right in with the sisters of the ward and Eugenia told her mom that she wanted to go to Primary, and off she went. It was a great experience.
This week we focused a lot on working with less active members and also building relationships with the members of the ward. We had 6 lessons with less active members this week. The one that stood out the most was with Hermano Juaquin. Juaquin used to be a bishop in the church but after he was separated from his wife he stopped attending. He hasn´t been to church in 3-4 years. We went and visited him with an active sister of the ward, and it was amazing. The spirit was so strong and we could tell that he could feel it too. He agreed to attend church this week. That night we called another less active hermano who is good friends with Juaquin to tell him the good news. He was overjoyed. On Sunday morning we saw the two of them come into the chapel together. It was such a beautiful sight. Hermana Cerrato and I almost began to cry because this is our goal as missionaries: to bring people back into the gospel and to bring them true and everlasting joy. It was wonderful! Also, another less active sister that we have been working with came for sacrament meeting, which was a great step for her.
I love this gospel and I love being a missionary. A lot of times it is hard and frustrating but then there are the times that are amazing that make it all worth it.
I love and miss you all soooo much!!
Con Amor,
Hermana Malstrom
