So this week was interesting! So hna Matamoros was kinda sick for 2 days with really bad allergies and so we spent a good few, long days in the pench which didn’t really help our overall insanity...hehe But all is well and she can breath a little bit better now!
Apart from being in the pench, we have been able to work with the Manzano family. They are truly amazing!! They are progressing a ton! The kids love the primacy and yesterday after church they told us the whole story of Nephi and Lehi´s dream that they learned in primary that day. They were super excited when we gave each of them their own copy of the libro de mormon and started marking them right away. On Saturday we decided to do a little test and see if they would go to church without any help. We did not call them or even mention church to them and Fernando and the kids showed up early on Sunday dressed in white shirts and ties and Agustina in a skirt! (I don´t even know where they got the clothes!) They looked like members already. Antonia was unable to go to church because she is having lots of pain with her pregnancy. She has 6 months pregnant and the baby Mia already wants to be born. She can´t walk very well and she rolls over in pain every few minutes poor thing. We also talked with them about the plan of salvation and the temple and they want to be a forever family.
The only bad part about them is that Antonia is so sick and their economic situation. Fernando is trying everything to find work but he is just not having any luck and now they have almost nothing. Fernando is hardly even eating because there is not enough money to buy food for everyone. It truly is breaking my heart to see Fernando so depressed and suffering. We gave them a few things that we had stored in the pench to eat and we gave the kids little gifts from the day of the kings because they did not receive anything. I don’t know if that is the right thing to do but I can´t help watching them suffer so much. We talked with the 1st counselor of the bishopric about getting them help but he said that he does not think that it is right to help them out before they are members to avoid them just getting baptized for the help. He suggested that they should get baptized this week and then they can talk to the bishop and get financial help. We believe that they are ready for baptism it´s just that Antonia only has one church attendance and she needs 3 to get baptized and 1 week really doesn’t give us much time. We will talk to president Goates and see what he thinks and we are praying to know what is the best course of action to take for the family.
They are truly prepared by our father and they are truly humble and they need the gospel more than ever in their life. I know that they will get baptized and will be true converts to this gospel. I am very honored to be able to know them and teach them. Keep praying for them because they need the help!! =)
