Our ward is kind of dying because of vacations and because the ward members are just not animated to do anything. But we have a plan! We are going to have a ward activity to get everyone excited and animated again. We are going to have a ward family home evening and after a ward dance! We hope that this will help unite the ward a little bit, get less active members excited to return to the church, get the members to trust us and to want to help us and to get our investigators integrated with the members. We have everything all planned out and we just need to get an "ok" for the date from our ward mission leader and then we are ready to go! We also talked with our bishop and he wants us to start to have rotating noches de hogar with the members to help reactivate the less active members and to introduce our investigators to ward members. We believe that this plan will help to animate and strengthen the ward and help the missionary work overall! We are excited to get started this week and see how it all goes.
This week we had an awesome service experience. We helped an elderly women in our ward pick grapes from her grape vine. It was something so simple but she was so grateful! It is incredible how powerful service can be! I also love how we can spread the love of Christ and how people can tell that we are called of God to help and serve them. It was a great experience that really strengthened my testimony of service and gave us a spiritual energy boost for the week.
We will hopefully being seeing lots of great progress in our area this week! Hermana Diaz and I are really praying hard that we will be able to find new investigators this week and that we can animate and strengthen the ward!
A GIANT praying mantis got into our bathroom. It took me about 20 minutes to get him out. We were screaming the whole time. It was a very humorous situation!
And UVAS!! They are so tasty and we picked them ourselves!!
