This week was a little bit better than past weeks but still pretty slow...But we have seen many miracles this week and we have 2 investigators that are progressing a lot which is a great surprise and a joy to see!! They are Rosa and Mariela. Rosa has been reading the Book of Mormon and the folletos that we have left with her and she even asked us about baptism the other day! We are going to have a family home evening with her and a few members in her house this week and we will try to get her husband to join us (so far he has not been very receptive.)
We have only had 2 lessons with Mariela but the 2nd lesson was awesome! When we arrived at her house she was waiting for us with 3 of her 4 children. The kids listened to the lesson too and Mariela said that she will start to read the Book of Mormon this week! We also have seen some great miracles while working with less active members.
Yesterday was maybe the best day of the week! It started off with lots of members at church! Almost everyone is back from vacation and everyone seemed a little bit more alive and happy. Next, without warning our landlord Maria Angelica came to church. Every once in a while she comes and it is always a great surprise.
Next, before the sacrament meeting started there was no bread for the sacrament and the men were frantically trying to find some bread to use when one sister said that that morning she had the thought to put some bread in her bag and bring it to church. She had no idea why but she did it and she saved the sacrament! This was such a cool experience for her and for everyone in the ward.
Next, the sacrament meeting was incredible! All of the testimonies were great and the spirit was very strong. After the meeting we were able to talk with lots of people and coordinate lots of good activities for this week.
Later that day we were able to have a great lesson with Agostina that was very much needed. She was able to feel the spirit and promised that she would pray again to find out if this church is true. She is an incredible young lady and it is an honor to help her develop her testimony. We are very excited to she what will happen next.
Lastly, at about 10 at night the zone leaders call to give a golden reference! It is a man that has been taking the lessons in Mendoza centro but actually lives in our ward and wants to get baptized here! We are going to call him today and find out more of his story, but we may be having a baptism pronto!! A day full of miracles to end the week!!
Fotos!! (some actually good photos this week!!)
I got the package from the Lynnfield ward primary about a month ago and I am going to send them a great thank you card!
Last Pday we went to Maipu with the other sisters in our zone. Maipu is about 30 minutes from godoy cruz and is much more campo (country) We helped a sister from the sisters ward paint her new house and then we went to the plaza Maipu. It was super pretty and it was nice to leave our area and see something new!
Have I mentioned that I love hermana Diaz? Well I love her!! She is awesome and fun and a great missionary! We are always laughing and having fun but also working hard!
Funny testigo story of the day: We were knocking a door one morning when a testigo de jehova came up to us and gave us kisses and asked us which group we were in. We kindly told her that we are not testigos and she got all flustered and just said thank you and walked away very briskly. So basically everyone thinks we are testigos, even the testigos!!
Well that is about all to report this week! I love you all and miss you bunches!!
Con Amor,
Sarah
