If you can believe it I HAVE BEEN ON MY MISSION FOR 2 MONTHS!! It seems just like last week that I was celebrating my 1st month!
This week has been a strange week. We changed pensions, which is a lot of work but it´s nice to have our own space now. There are a lot less distractions living in 2 rather than 4 and studying is much easier. However we miss the Hermanas a ton even though we only live about 4 blocks away and we see them at least every other day, but it´s way too quite with only 2!!
The downside of this change is that we lost two days of proselitismo (proselyting) this week. Also, this weekend we had Stake Conference. It was great! I understood a fair amount of it, or at least the main ideas of each talk. I enjoyed hearing the testimony of our stake president. It was a very well done, spiritual conference. I also enjoyed seeing all of the faithful members in the area.
Because of the conference, some of the sisters from Alvear came down for a day. We did intercambios (missionary exchanges) for about 2 hours. I was a little nervous at first but it went well. I was with Hermana Paulson, another norteamericana who only has about 5 months, and we were in my area. Because of this, I was nervous about the language and about getting lost in the area, but we didn’t get lost even once and we were able to talk to several people. It was a great experience and it made me realize that I know more about the area and how to talk to people than I thought!
On Sunday we had to opportunity to have a lesson with a less active member who is 16 years old and his mother who is a nonmember. It was a great experience and the mother agreed to read 2 Nephi 31 and pray about it. She also said that she looks forward to having more lessons with us! This son is amazing and I think with a little effort he will start coming back to church and will be a great example to his mother.
